About Me
My name is Alexandria Fullen. I am currently graduating from the University of Florida with a Master of Science in Veterinary Medical Sciences with a Concentration in Shelter Medicine. Prior work experience spans across several types of careers. I have worked in animal shelters, animal hospitals, convenience stores, a restaurant, and managerial positions. All of these types of jobs have allowed me to create new skills, grow current skills, and become more well-rounded. My professionalism and communication abilities are unchallenged. I have learned how to best interact with people whom I might not agree with, which is extremely important in a career.
My greatest success is obtaining two bachelor's degrees simultaneously, one in the arts and the second in the sciences. My parents did not graduate from college, so the opportunity to graduate with two degrees felt like a tremendous hurdle that I accomplished. I was even able to complete a minor in counseling psychology. Another great success is currently happening – graduating with a master’s degree. My bachelor's were the hurdle; now anything that comes afterwards is a bonus that makes me proud.
Here are my passions and how they shape me.
Animal Lover
I have always had an animal by my side. They have taught me responsibility, accountability, humility, and husbandry. I believe I'm a gentler person because of them - empathetic, calm, and dependable.
Below are some of my pets.
I have a colony of rats, five fish tanks, two cats, four dogs, and a leopard gecko!
Author
I published five novels in high school through my freshman year of college. I was invited to book signings and even met local politicians. This was a great chance to meet like-minded individuals, embrace my creativity, and adventure while strengthening my communication skills.
Wildlife Conservationist
I interned with Jingoli Power, LLC. My title was environmental management intern, and my responsibilities were to ensure the safety of all construction site personnel, monitor sites for wildlife, and shut down any site with endangered animals present. I also helped prohibit traffic while ropes were being pulled to ensure public safety (i.e., the helicopter pictured).
This work provided me the opportunity to converse with multiple construction and electrical crews, including linemen and journeyman linemen. The stakes were high at this job, which taught me how to operate under high amounts of pressure.
Car Enthusiast
I love the exciting nature of this enthusiast group. I love photographing my car and showing it to my car-friend groups. Everyone is supportive and gives great advice on future modifications. I like having these financial goals. This has helped me learn how to financially plan for the future.
